This is an interesting list. I'd like to hear more about "pizazz factor." I agree that radiant heat from the floor is an enhancement that is starting to catch on (I talk about one brand on my blog). Especially in today's difficult market, homeowners must focus on high-value-add projects that are appropriate to their market and neighborhood.
The pizazz factor of standing out and popping- i.e. crown molding, faux painting, etc. I look forward to reading your blog!
We have found that lighting re-design in combination with the updating of moldings and paint has been a popular project decision in this new economy.
New recessed lighting is a great way to update any room while new under-cabinet lighting can show-off the new tile backsplash in the kitchen. Small projects...BIG payback!!

Interesting, it makes sense that there is a increasing trend towards smaller projects in this economy, although that may soon change. I've heard lots of success stories about Chicago Renovation (www.chicagorenovation.com)
